Mortgage broking

The files a broker handles carry more personal information than almost anything else a small firm touches: payslips, identity documents, bank statements, a whole financial position.

The job we would time first

One inbound document, end to end

Every design partner times the same shape of job, varying only the profession. That is deliberate: it tests whether the mechanism saves time independently of industry, which is a more useful thing to learn than two data points in one profession.

  • Client document triage
  • Serviceability pack summaries
  • Lender correspondence
  • Compliance file notes
  • Client update drafting
  1. A client sends through documents
  2. Someone reads and sorts them
  3. Details that should not be sent are taken out by hand
  4. A summary or a note is drafted
  5. Someone checks it before it goes further
  6. The file gets updated, or does not

How it lands here

What this looks like in your practice

Documents arrive, get read and sorted, get summarised, and someone checks the result. The mechanism does not care that the document is a payslip rather than a tax notice — the shape of the job is the same one it was built for.

We build the workflow around the document handling itself. It sits alongside your aggregator and lender systems rather than replacing them, and it is worth mapping which parts of your process it should touch first.

As a mortgage broker, we expect you to keep records of how you have acted when providing credit assistance. This includes records of inquiries you make into the consumer's circumstances, and the consideration, investigation and assessment of the products you recommend.
